“ I don't care what anyone says. Sometimes you just want some good ole Americanized chinese take out. After a string of disappoints for even the most basic chinese take out dish we had pretty much given up hope. Until I read the reviews on Taste of Asian in Lodi. My mom gets cravings for egg foo young but out of the last 4 places she was appalled. We tried again. Ordered the lunch special pork egg foo young with additional shrimp. Previously, we ended up throwing out the last 4 egg foo youngs because the patties were either super greasy or the gravy had no flavor. Not this time! Mom said this was the best one in years. The general tsos hit just right. Plus, a lot of other places have gotten very sloppy and flavorless with their soups. The egg drop soup hits just right. Next time I'll be bold and see what the wonton soup tastes like. We also ordered the beef and broccoli - a smidge salty one time but perfect the other time. Consistency is key but overall this was a very solid experience This is now our go to for chinese take out. ”
“ We've ordered the sushi platter from Taste of Asian countless times. It's a local business with Chinese take out style food. Food is tasty and well priced so take it for what it is and enjoy! ”
“ This is my go to Chinese food place. Last night I was having a major craving since I haven't had any in a long time and went for the chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce combination. I chose the pork fried rice and an egg roll. Even though I've never had an issue with them drowning the food with sauce I still like to be cautious and tell them to lightly sauce it and it was absolutely perfect. The fried rice is fresh and moist and the eggroll is crunchy without being greasy. Super solid family run spot!! ”
“ Really good traditional Chinese take out and good prices. Food quality is consistently good. Great lunch specials. I always order the same 5 or 6 Chinese food menu items off the menu but they are consistently great good ingredients and good portion sizes. I've never tried their sushi. Take out only. The restaurant is not much to look at but the food is really good. It is hard to find a decent priced, good Chinese food restaurant in the area. They are either super cheap and sketchy or good quality but high priced. This Chinese food restaurant is just right. ”
“ Favorite Chinese food around here. Lo mein is excellent, flavorful and not overly oily like some others can be. Everything is always tasty. ”
“ I ordered the chicken and broccoli and it was all white meat chicken with fresh cooked broccoli plus I chose the brown rice option. Salad was iceberg lettuce with a thick ginger dressing. Egg roll was only thing not top of the line tasted like it had been cooked in older oil? They sent napkins, plastic forks and a variety of sauces. Delivered earlier than scheduled. ”
“ It's hard to find decent Americanized Chinese food these days for a number of reasons. Some people will just eat it irrespective of where it was from, while others do have standards when it comes to something as inexpensive (and probably unhealthy) as such. I absolutely fall into the latter as there are definitely levels to Americanized Chinese food, believe it or not. Yes, I love Americanized Chinese food. I truly consider it a guilty pleasure of mine. I don't go to it often, but when I do, I have my favorites. And, I would like to say that, officially, Taste of Asian is on my FAVORITES list for it! One of the 1st things I had to search for immediately when I moved was to look for an Americanized Chinese food (ACF) restaurant. Not just any, but a good one. I was very accustomed to being able to go outside of my home and pick up a quick, filling and inexpensive meal when I was short on time. Taste of Asian has definitely sort of filled that gap for me here. I've been to Taste of Asian a few times now, for pickup, and it's pretty much like any other ACF restaurant - sort of dingy looking, small and located in an area where no other nice restaurants are located. There is a parking lot to the side and back, but, honestly, it doesn't look like the greatest place to leave your car for 10 min. As for their menu, there are really no surprises here. All of the typical menu items that you can order at other ACF restaurants are here, plus or minus some lunch specials....and, yes, like others, they have a PLETHORA of lunch specials to boot, which are available from 11:00 am - 3:30 pm (except Sunday). All of the lunch specials are served w. White or Brown or Pork Fried Rice and you have a choice of an Egg Roll or Soup (Wonton, Egg Drop or Hot & Sour Soup) - all for around $8, which is super reasonable in this day and age. From the times that we ordered from here (mostly for lunch specials), we ordered things like Shrimp Lo Mein, Hunan Chicken and the Chicken with Broccoli. And as a Chinese American, I am NOT ashamed of saying I've ordered Chicken with Broccoli :) on many occasions. In addition, we've completed the trifecta of trying all of their soups - Wonton, Egg Drop and Hot & Sour. The verdict? Pretty decent for what it is. Not the best ACF we've ever had, but it definitely satisfied the craving. The pork fried rice was solid. The lo mein was rather good and I'm typically no fan of lo mein. The entrees were as tasty as could be and the soups actually had flavor! Soups at ACF restaurants are really a hit or miss due to them being watered down at times and thankfully they are a hit here. Having a go-to ACF restaurant has always been a must for me because you never know when you need that quick, inexpensive meal and Taste of Asian is definitely on the top of that list so far in the surrounding area. ”
